International Women’s Day - Reflections by our CEO
International Women’s Day often brings up mixed emotions for me. I don’t think gender equality is about trends. Equity isn’t some hot topic that comes and goes—it’s an everyday choice. We shouldn’t have to debate paying people fairly for their work; it’s just right. I believe if we take that first step to tackle inequality and stick with it, we are on track to building a better world together—a place where everyone can bring their best and thrive together.
At Punar, I’m proud to walk this talk every day. We partner with ethical, women-led enterprises in India, creating equal-pay jobs for artisans who turn textile waste into sustainable gifts, fashion textiles and customisable merchandise. I’ve spent 20+ years in technology and over five years on two boards learning this: equity isn’t optional—it’s how we thrive.
This IWD 2025 theme has certainly got me fired up—how are we accelerating women? At Punar, we’re investing in their skills, creating jobs and economic freedom. What about you? What’s one thing you’re doing—maybe at work, in your community, or with your team—to push women forward?
We are proving it works—join me in making it real every day. Interested in collaborations reach out home@punar.com.au
Brands and organisations if you are genuinely interested in creating an equitable world and appreciate custom made ethical gifts, and gift hampers, we can join hands with you and amplify impacts. Conscious consumers, we see you, we understand your ethos so we thank you for your support.
“Invest in women everyday, not just International Women’s Day”
